Over the past year or so Snapchat have made a bit of a name for themselves by releasing large, controversial updates that tend to frustrate users at first by making changes that make the app harder to use until you grow accustomed to it.
In their newest update which is set to hit iOS and Android today Snapchat are to remove the feature that requires you to hold down on the screen to view the Snap.
This means that from now on if you want to open a Snap or a story all you have to do is tap on it and it will open on your screen. You will still have the ability to skip by tapping and if you swipe down from the top of the screen you will close the Snap.
While this feature may make the app easier to use in my opinion it is taking away another unique feature that made Snapchat different to the competition and I really don’t think that that is a good thing.
Last but not least Snapchat have made a fun change to the QR code that appears when you swipe down in the camera. You now have the ability to customize your QR code with a series of pictures that will form a GIF like loop.
