Speaking at the Code Conference in LA last night Snapchat CEO, Evan Spiegel, said that the feature that forces you to hold down on the screen to view a snap may be removed at some point in the future.
Spiegel said that the feature was originally included to stop people from taking screenshots of snaps. Since then Apple have made changes to iOS that will now allow you to take a screenshot while you are touching the screen. This renders the “hold-down” feature useless and Evan Spiegel strongly hinted that this feature will be removed in the future.
In my opinion I don’t want to see this go. While it may get a little annoying it is one of the unique features that makes Snapchat different from other messaging apps and I have to admit that I would be very sad to see it go.
